Rang de basanti

So its almost a month since its release and .... wait i think the Rang de basanti ringtone is playing outside on someones cellphone!!Okay back to where we were;almost a month had passed and i had not seen the movie that was being talked about almost everywhere (Thanx to college schedules and assignment).I read this great review by Praveen (dude from trivandrum) that he wrote about Rang de and i had to see the movie.Check out his article at http://crusadertvm.blogspot.com/.
Well , then i told my friends (Pankaj,Rishabh) after watching taxi no. 9211 (another hindi movie that surprised me!) that I had to watch this movie.Rishabh had not seen it too and he was ready to go and Pankaj, the movie buff and a very good sport ( he's watched RDB for the sixth time now) also agreed.So we decided to watch RDB at 5.30 after a lot of postponing.So today at 5.30 I reached e-square (late as usual) and met my buddies there waiting for me(thanx guys!!).The show had begun and we entered when Sonia (Soha ali Khan) was taking Sue into the university hostel.
So about the movie.Rang de basanti taken in a lighter vein is a remix of those ghastly Bhagat Singh movies (remember those three movies with the same story?) but with a new feel and enjoyable narrative.But more seriously i think it is a great effort by the director and the scriptwriter to really awaken us the present generation.The script is really well written and I just can't imagine how he hit upon those ideas!! The movie flows real smoothly from one situation and setting to the next!! This is a special movie and i guess millions hace noticed that by now !!The visuals and locations are breathtaking, just like a breath of fresh air ,just as youthful as the movie !! The first half was all predictable as a lot of the shots from the promos were from the first half ,but it is in the second half that the story slowly evolves and climbs and climbs to a climax we couldnt have thought of (rare for Hindi movies).
The characters are each unique and are all well played by the actors !! We all relate to the characters very quickly and its as if there's always someone we know who is a bit like Karan,DJ,or any one else.I personally think that each one of us has a bit of DJ,Aslam,Karan,Sukhi,Ajay,Sonia,Sue or even Laxman Pandey !!
I was really moved by the movie and iam sure a lot of us have been !! I just hope we dont forget to fix up our country in any small way that we can !!
I wish i could make a movie like this !!And i hope movies like these keep coming from the hindi film industry !!
